A 15-year professional services partnership
For more than fifteen years, Gilead Biosciences has relied on Berkley’s Statement of Work
solutions, professional service engagements underpinned by our Design | Build | Run model, to
resource its specialist project work in Carrigtwohill, Cork. Gilead initially needed engineers with a
highly specialised packaging skillset that is difficult to source at scale. With over 25 years in
similar industries and deep market networks, Berkley’s consultants were well placed to deliver.

Gilead’s drug product manufacturing and packing plant required skilled, experienced people
across a defined scope of work, in disciplines where specialist talent is scarce. Rather than a

Professional services, underpinned by a tailored Statement of Work
The Berkley Project Manager scopes each project in consultation with the Gilead hiring manager
and agrees a tailored SOW. An on-site hiring manager outlines the project scope and timeframe,
which forms the basis of the Statement of Work, and our Project Manager collaborates with
Berkley’s consultants and wider operational team to build out and deliver the plan, working
closely with senior internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.

Berkley has scaled its professional services team on site year on year, growing from its initial
resource to 45 PS resources in 2026, delivering ongoing projects across:
→ Validation: CSV, packaging (sterile and non-sterile).
→ Automation: MES, SCADA and PLC.
→ Project Management.
→ Technical Science: lab expansions, equipment qualification and analytical development.
